What weight is suitable for my pet?
The Nomad comes in two sizes. Size S supports pets up to 15 kg (33 lbs) — suitable for all cats and small dogs (French Bulldogs, Corgis, Bichons). Size M supports up to 30 kg (66 lbs) — for medium breeds like Shibas, Beagles, and Border Collies. Both sizes use the same solid beechwood frame and joinery — the structure's natural load tolerance far exceeds these limits. The figures are set conservatively so your pet always sleeps on a surface that doesn't flex or shift.
Will my pet accept the new bed?
Most pets transition to the Nomad quickly because it uses the same natural wood scent and firm-but-supported feel as other ZenPaw pieces. If your pet already uses a ZenPaw bed at home, the Nomad will feel familiar — which is exactly the point. For new ZenPaw users, we recommend placing a worn item of your clothing on the cushion for the first few nights to help your pet settle in.
Can the mat be purchased separately?
Yes — replacement cushion pads are available separately. If your pad wears out before the frame does (which is rare, but possible with heavy travelers), you can order a new one without replacing the whole bed. The frame is built to outlast multiple pads.
